Beginner Canyoning Sušec

Getting ready for our canyoning tours is easy! You only need to bring a swimsuit (to wear under the wetsuit) and a towel for after the trip. We ensure you are fully equipped with all necessary gear, including a warm wetsuit, canyoning harness, helmet, and canyoning shoes. Just arrive in your normal clothes, and we will take care of the rest.

Not really – however, basic water confidence is important. While the pools in the Sušec canyon are small in size, they are deep enough to swim in. You don’t need to be an expert – your thick wetsuit acts like a personal floatation device, keeping you on the surface effortlessly. 

A little rain won’t stop the adventure. Beginner canyoning in the Sušec gorge is actually one of the few outdoor activities that remains great in light or moderate rain. We monitor the water level and weather forecast constantly for your safety. Unless there is a heavy storm, your tour is a go, but if we need to cancel, you will be the first to know.

Definitely not! We provide extra-thick wetsuits and neoprene gloves specifically for these months. You’ll stay warm while enjoying the canyon at its most beautiful and most quiet. Warm gear, no crowds!

Yes, absolutely. Sušec canyoning is known as nature’s water park and is the ideal introduction to the sport. It is physically less demanding than other canyons and focuses on fun slides and easy jumps, making it the perfect choice for beginner canyoning in Bovec.

It is the perfect choice! We often call Sušec “nature’s water park” because it is incredibly fun without being too extreme. It is the ideal family adventure for children aged 10 and up. Because the slides are exciting and all jumps are optional, it allows parents and kids to share a genuine adrenaline experience together safely.

You are welcome to bring a waterproof camera like a GoPro. Our helmets have standard mounts for hands-free filming. We do not recommend bringing phones, even in waterproof cases, as they can get damaged against the rocks. Please note that bringing any camera is at your own risk.

Seeing clearly is important. So yes, you are welcome to wear them – properly secured using a sports strap for glasses (we have some available). Another excellent option for canyoning is to wear contact lenses combined with swimming goggles. This keeps your eyes protected and your hands free to navigate the rocks.

Of course not. This is a beginner canyoning tour, so nothing is mandatory. For every jump or slide, you have alternatives. We can use the rope to rappel you down slowly and safely, or in most sections, you can simply walk around the obstacle on a side path. We want you to feel comfortable, not pressured.

Small groups mean better quality. We keep our Sušec canyoning tours to a maximum of 8 people to ensure personal attention.

Bringing 9, 10 or 12 friends? No problem! We will provide two guides just for your group. You will stick together in your own exclusive group.

Although the Soča Valley is one of the cleanest in the world, preserving it requires an ongoing effort.

Our tours run during quieter times, follow a leave-no-trace approach, and we commit 1% of each booking to support regular clean-ups of the Soča riverbanks, access paths, and surrounding areas carried out by our own team.
